The Limited Slip Collar is specifically designed with your dog's safety in mind. With a leash attached to the "live" d-ring, this collar will tighten with pressure to help prevent your dog from backing out of their collar. To prevent over-tightening our limited slip design will limit the collar's reduction in size by 4" (3" for the smaller neck sizes).

The collar size you choose will be the circumference that the collar can adjust when it relaxed around your dog's neck. When tension is applied to the slip it will reduce the collar's size by a max of 4" (3" for smaller neck sizes). For example if you choose the 16-20" size and your pup wear's his/her collar at 18", when tension is applied to the slip it can tighten down to approximately 14".
The best to way to measure for these style collars is with a soft measuring tape or string. Gently wrap the tape or string around the following 3 areas. The tape should be snug but not too tight. If your dog has very thick fur be sure to get the tape closer to the skin.
Measure the following 3 areas:
- the widest part of your pup's head (A)
- the neck just behind the ears (B)
- the neck where the collar naturally sits (C)
- BioThane® is a piece of cake to clean. Wash in soapy water or just spray off with the hose and, BOOM, it's as good as new. Towel dry or air dry, and it's ready for more fun & dirty adventures! To keep your BioThane gear performing at its best, we recommend rinsing your dog’s leash or collar with fresh water after any water-based or dirt-heavy activities. Take special care to rinse the hardware on your BioThane® gear. This will help to rinse off dirt, grime, and salt water all of which can, over time, wear down the hardware.
- To ensure the longevity of your BioThane® product, avoid exposure to certain chemicals such as, DEET, insect repellents, topical flea and tick products, as well as lotions and body oils. This can lead to brittleness and cracking over time.
- UV printing is the most durable method for printing on BioThane®. While it's incredibly resilient to the elements, it may show signs of wear and tear over time.
