Patterned 1" Width BioThane® Martingale Collars
- Current Processing Time: 3-8 business days
The Martingale Collar is specifically designed with your dog's safety in mind. With a leash attached to the O-ring, this collar will tighten with pressure to help prevent your dog from backing out of their collar.
Please be sure to follow our "how to measure" guidelines below to ensure you get the perfect fit as these style collars are NOT adjustable. When tension is applied to the martingale chain it will reduce the collar's size by a max of 4". For example if the overall circumference of the collar is 18", it can tighten down to approximately 14". Due to the length & thickness of the chain we can't make these style collars any smaller than 15".
- Made with super heavy BioThane® in 1" width & stainless steel hardware.
- 100% waterproof, anti-microbial, & very durable- built for any adventure from sea to summit
- Low maintenance- Wash in soapy water or just spray off with the hose and, BOOM, it's as good as new. BioThane® is easy to clean in just a few minutes.
- BioThane® is flexible, similar to the feel of broken in leather (even in freezing temperatures)
- Reinforced with heavy duty screws at all stress points to ensure for the strongest hold. We believe screws are the most durable as the threads are tightened & reinforced to ensure your collar will never come apart.
It is very important to carefully measure your pup to get accurate measurements as these collars are NOT adjustable. The best to way to measure for these style collars is with a soft measuring tape or string. Gently wrap the tape or string around the following 3 areas. The tape should be snug but not too tight. If your dog has very thick fur be sure to get the tape closer to the skin.
Measure the following 3 areas:
- the widest part of your pup's head (A)
- the neck just behind the ears (B)
- the neck where the collar naturally sits (C)
As this type of collar slides over your pup's head & is non-adjustable, if either measurement (A or B) is larger than measurement (C) the collar will need to be slightly larger to ensure it will slide off & on comfortably. As a general rule, we recommend adding .5-1" to the widest head measurement to make sure you can slide the collar off and on comfortably. You can use the measuring tape/string to ensure you can slip over your dog's head. If you prefer a looser fit or you have a fluffy pup, feel free to add a little more room.
When measuring the neck circumference (measurement C) be sure you can fit 2 fingers under the tape/string.
When tension is applied to the martingale chain it will reduce the collar's size by a max of 4". For example if the overall circumference of the collar is 18", it can tighten down to approximately 14".
*If your dog's head is significantly larger than their neck, this collar will sit lower than "normal" collars.
