Martingale collars are specifically designed to provide more control than a standard collar & (when fitted properly) will prevent your dog from escaping or backing out of their collar due to the cinching function. While martingale collars don't prevent pulling, they are an excellent training tool for teaching your dog good leash manners. They are highly recommended by trainers as the go-to collar choice.

This is the style that comes with your standard fi collar and is the recommended fi style for the new series 3+ to ensure you get the most optimal accuracy with its additional behavior monitoring features. The Series 3+ will still work with the overlay design for GPS tracking and fitness.

The collar size you choose will be the circumference that the collar can adjust when it relaxed around your dog's neck. When tension is applied to the martingale it will reduce the collar's size by a max of 4" (3" for smaller neck sizes). For example if you choose the 16-20" size and your pup wear's his/her collar at 18", when tension is applied to the martingale it can tighten down to approximately 14".
The best to way to measure for these style collars is with a soft measuring tape or string. Gently wrap the tape or string around the following 3 areas. The tape should be snug but not too tight. If your dog has very thick fur be sure to get the tape closer to the skin.
Measure the following 3 areas:
- the widest part of your pup's head (A)
- the neck just behind the ears (B)
- the neck where the collar naturally sits (C)

Black Metal: A popular choice for upgrading the look of your collar. While it's a stylish option loved by many, please note that coated finishes can wear/chip over time.
To keep your collar looking its best, we recommend hand-washing it with mild soap and warm water when needed. For stubborn spots, use an old toothbrush brush or dish brush to gently scrub the area. Rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry and then it will be ready for your next adventure

I love this martingale! It's well constructed and striking! The ring you attach the leash to is a little too heavy. My pup seems to shy from it when I go to put it on. I don't think he likes how heavy it feels between the heavy-duty hardware and the weight of the Fi unit itself. I really hope he gets used to it.
I use a thick martingale when we go to obedience training and it wasn't working to ALSO be wearing his Fi collar. I bought this Fi compatible martingale so he would only need to wear one collar to training. When we get home, I switch back to the regular collar, so the Fi unit needs to be removed from his SeaFlower collar and put back on his Fi collar. It only takes a minute or two. I gets tons of complements on the pattern (blue smoke) too!
Before I was using 2 collars, one for the Fi and one as a martingale. I tried to find a 2 in 1 and finally found this! Absolutely love it!

I chose the periwinkle martingale collar that is compatible with the Fi tracker. I already had a martingale collar in this pattern nylon so I was thrilled to find SeaFlower carried it too.
